General Informations


Keana is operated by Norbert Schmidt and his highly experienced crews, boasting 20 years of experience in diving and safaris in Maldives. The legal body is Mal-Dive Enterprises Pvt.Ltd., a Male-registered company, established 1994.


Cruising Days:

Keana is cruising SUNDAY-SUNDAY

There is no specific hour of departure, we wait on Sunday for the incoming flight you are booked on. As soon as all customers have arrived, we start program.


Arrival and Departure:

One of our crews or a representative of your operator will expect you at the airport once you lleft the customs area.

The vessel is returning one day prior to departure-day (this is usually Saturday afternoon) to near airport. On your departure-day you will be delivered by us to the airport in time for your flight.

If you are joining us coming from a resort, just tell the reception to drop you any time between 8 and 11 am at the airport and inform us by mail or under 7773929. Similar procedure if you continue to a resort after our cruise.


Checkout Time

Checkout time from vessel is 11 hours. Extend stay up to 18 hours (6pm) is 20 USD incl.lunch. Late checkout (after 18hours) is 50 USD incl.lunch and dinner. Extended stay is only possible if cabins are available. If following tour is fully booked, late checkout can not be provided!



Other Arrangements:

If you arrive a day earlier we can arrange accomodations at the Airport Hotel a city hotel in Male or a guesthouse in Hulumale just on the beach.

If you cannot hold our cruising-days you may join or leave the vessel at other days by AIRTAXI. We make the arrangements, you pay to Airtaxi direct (Price depending on destination, we do not upmark transfers).


Formalities:

Make sure your passport is valid at least for 6 months more. If not, you may face major difficultis upon arrival. On the flight you get an immigration card to be filled in. A 4 weeks tourist-visa is automatically granted.

Import of alcohol to Maldives is strictly forbidden. If you are caught at customs, you may face troubles. We do not appreciate at all smuggled alcohol aboard.


Life aboard:

Your main occupancy will be doing little to nothing- except diving. If you are a diver utilizing the 3 dives offered, hard work is waiting for you.

Dress is casual. Just bring shorts and T-shirts or light shirts. Do not wear wet or mini-bathing trunks on cushions. For meals a T-shirt is required.

Smoking is strictly prohibited in cabins and saloon. In the bar and anywhere outside no problem.


Fishing:

Fishing from main-boat prohibited. Trolling while cruising permitted.

You may rent the dhingi for fishing at USD 10 per hour (1-4 persons)

We do not allow any souvenirs taken from sea, dead or alive


Food:

You are served three meals a day as buffet. Food is local Asian and western. Main foods is rice, noodels, seasonal vegetables, thuna and chicken, 1-2  times per week beef. Vegetarians

Towels

We provide hand-bath-and beachtowels. Own beach-towels you may take along if your luggage allows.The towels will be changed once within a trip, bedsheets will be changed at the end of the trip only (one week). We have reserve-sets for unexpected changes.


Internet:

Mobile connection is possible on cruise, exept few locations. You may buy an inexpensive local chip for your device upon your arrival at airport (ask our representative).

Free GSM-based WIFI available on board


Reservations:

You may book directly, but it may be  worth to consult an operator, because the cruise itself is likely connected with flights, resorts, hotels, transfers. This is not easy to control by an individual.
